Stedham Camp

Around the campsire at StedhamGroup Photo at Stedham

Each year Year 6 go to Stedham Campsite where they live under canvas for three days and take part in a range of activities organised by the teaching staff. Most of these will take place either on the camp site or in the wooded area adjoining the campsite.

Activities include two walks around the local countryside. One to Woolbeding common—led by the National Trust and the other in the wooded area adjacent to the site which will during the evening and returning after dark. Another activity in the wooded area is building shelters from materials found in the woods. Team building activities on the camp site include a blindfolded trail, orienteering and a treasure hunt.

The children are also be expected to contribute to the effective running of the community by spending a few minutes doing daily chores such as making lunch, washing up, litter picking etc.
